Hi, I’m Leanne, the founder, chef and artist behind Suga Painters.

My journey into edible art began at the intersection of creativity, hospitality, and a deep love of hands-on making. I’ve always believed that food can be more than something we consume — it can be something we experience. What started as a love for baking and decorative techniques evolved into a passion for creating immersive, mindful, and expressive edible art experiences.

I’m formally trained in patisserie and hospitality management, with a background of nursing. I bring a strong professional foundation to everything I teach — from food safety and technique to thoughtful session design. My background combines structured culinary training with a highly creative, intuitive approach to teaching, which allows me to support both beginners and confident creatives in the same room.

I love guiding because it’s less about skills. It’s about witnessing confidence grow, hands relax, and conversations unfold naturally over shared creative focus. Whether you’re attending solo, with friends, or as part of a group, my goal is for you to leave feeling grounded, inspired, and proud of what you’ve created. If you’re looking for a creative experience that’s tactile, calming, and a little bit magical, you’re in the right place.

Suga Painters was born from a desire to give people permission to slow down, play, and reconnect — with themselves and with each other. In my workshops, painting your edible canvas isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence, curiosity, and joy. Every piece is delicious, but more importantly, every piece is personal.

What makes my workshops special is the atmosphere. They’re relaxed, welcoming, and intentionally designed to feel safe for experimentation. Many people arrive saying ‘I’m not creative’ and leave surprised by what they’ve made — and how they felt making it. That moment never gets old.
